polariot. - this is Austin (vocals, songwriter, rhythm guitar), Vince (lead guitar), Marc (drums) and Oli (bass) — a modern Indie-Pop/Rock band for everyone who loves real, heartfelt music.
Every song begins with a feeling — sadness, joy, excitement — captured by Austin on an acoustic guitar. Together, we turn these ideas into songs, with Vince writing the lead guitar parts, Oli crafting the bass lines, and Marc adding his unique drum groove.
When we played our very first gig in 2008 under a different band name at a small blues bar in our hometown, we knew immediately: this is what we want to do — touching people, giving hope, and sharing emotions through music.
In 2012, we released our first studio EP "love exists..." with producer Philipp Stephan from deafbird Studios, Cologne. We played many shows across Germany, including in iconic clubs like the Underground in Cologne and even opened for Max Mutzke at an open-air festival in Dortmund. Our second EP "Nothing Like The First Kiss" followed in 2014, and after a small tour through Scotland, our single "Always Come Back For More" was played on the radio in germany, leading to an exclusive interview at Radio Dortmund.
After some years of silence and changes within the band, we returned in 2022 under a new name — polariot. — stronger and more honest than ever. Once again, we worked closely with Philipp Stephan at deafbird Studios in Cologne, creating a new EP that felt more honest and mature than anything we had done before. Our mindset in the studio was simple: "Let’s just make the music we love. No labels. No pressure. Just music." And that’s exactly what we did. During this time, Marc and Oli joined the band, fitting in perfectly both musically and personally. It felt like the missing pieces had finally fallen into place.
Our first single "where the planes fly low." will be released on July 11, 2025. We are excited to share our new music with the world, to play shows nationally and internationally, and to keep writing songs that come straight from the heart.
We are incredibly excited and thankful for everything that lies ahead.
